#31DC2015: Yellow aka I Just Came To Say...Yellow??

Did you sing my title?? Come ooooon! It's epic!...okay, I suck. I know. But just go with it okay? Let me not jabber on about WEAK ASS titles though and rather jump straight into the stuff you are actually here to see!

#31DC2015: Yellow

I haven't done a skittlette in AGES so when the inspiration hit me for this many, I was kind of over the moon! And epic thing is the inspiration literally just hit me out of the blue...or yellow?? Suck it Google! I didn't need you this time!

I started out by laying down 2 coats of Tip Top Nail Chic Sun Kissed over all my nails. On my ring finger I added a coat of Seche Vite Top Coat and added a bunch of different black rhinestones and studs which I painted black using WOW Nail Polish #393. On my middle finger I put on some sellotape to make the triangular shape, added a thick coat of Sinful Colors Snow Me White over the gap and pulled the tape off immediately. Then I laid down a few mini chevron vinyls by NailVinyls over the white and filled in the spaces with WOW Nail Polish #393. Lastly I just laid down a coat of L.A. Girl Spotted over the yellow on my pinky and index finger.

Again, super simple but I actually seriously dig this mani! I have a thing for black and yellow and badly want to make my lounge yellow, white and black but the husband wont bite. I'll get him there one day though! Tee hee hee!

#NailAnarchy - Christmas In July *PIC HEAVY!*

Hi the lovelies! Hmmm...can you smell that?? I hope it’s the smell of your morning breath still in bed because it is Saturday and you deserve to sleep in dammit! Anyhoo, no long intro’s today because I have an epic post up today!

So...In January a bunch of girls from the Nail Anarchy group decided this whole Christmas only happening once a year thing just sucks. So we took Christmas into our own hands, decided to play Secret Santa with each other and BOOM! Christmas in July!

I pulled my favourite bok, Ordinary Misfit and was ecstatic because c'moooon! ORDINARY MISFIT!...it was short lived. Michelle, I love you but damn girl, you are hard to shop for and try and be original! Do you know that you already own like half the worlds polishes??? But with some snooping and her Elfster wishlist I pulled it off! YAY ME! Feel free to go check out her Secret Santa post HERE.

Now my Secret Santa turned out to be acidicice and maaaan, did she do gooooooood! I mean like REAL GOOD! *happy squeals* High 5’s all around for Heather! *throws confetti* So, shall I show you??

She did so good right?? And man, I am going ape crap about the squishy stamper! It is such a game changer! It actually goes into my cuticle line! That has never happened before! *faints* Thank you so so much H! You are a SUPER STAR!

I can’t leave you without a mani right? So here is a Christmas In July-esque mani I did.

I started out by laying down 2 coats of Tip Top Nail Chic Diva Glam. When this was dry I used Bundle Monster Plate BM-323 for the snowflake image and Mundo de Unas 68 Sky Blue.

Guest Post: Ordinary Misfit

Hi there lovelies! Today I'm not going to have a big intro or talk nonsense like I usually do because I am having my very first guest post! It is one of two posts that you will see over the next two weeks and both posts feature guests that are not only great nail polish/art bloggers but also very close to my heart because they are very dear friends to me! Like the “if you hurt them I will hunt you into your grave” type of friends!

My first guest is Michelle from Ordinary Misfit and I am immensely honored to have her take over my little space here in crazy land today. I can not tell you how excited I am to show you this mani because, well, just look for yourself:

Inspired by Alice

I am absolutely honoured to guest post here today. Talk about pressure though!

After a recent conversation with Thea about Alice in Wonderland (I will leave that story for her to tell :P) I knew that I had to do Alice in Wonderland inspired nails for this post.

This is so out of my comfort zone it’s ridiculous! I don’t do free hand anything. I can barely draw on paper, not to mention my nails. I loved the idea though and I think it is really cute (also a huge thanks to acidicice for bouncing ideas around and all the help with this design). I might not get good marks on execution but you can’t deny the idea is super cute right?

Right, I used a bazillion polishes so I will go through each nail. I started with my pinky. This nail represents Alice herself. She is the first character we meet and, of course, the main character. I started with two coats of Tip Top – Beach Babe that represents her dress. I then did a white French tip with Sinful Colors – Snow me white. This represents her apron. I then lined the white tip with my black striper and stamped a black bow from Pueen12. This represents her headband and ribbon.

Alice then meets the white rabbit. I used Sinful Colors – Ruby Ruby to represent the white rabbits red jacket. I then used my white striper to make his ears. I also used Sinful Colors – Snow me White to make the half circle representing the white rabbits pocket watch. I then used Revlon – Gold Rush for the border of the watch and my black striper for the dots and the hand of the watch.

Next is Cheshire Cat. (PINK!!) I used Tip Top – Sherbet Angel and once that was dry I used striping tape and Tip Top – Grape to Meet You to make the stripes. I then used my black and white stripers to make his big old cheesy grin. Next up was Tip Top – Sun Kissed (over white) to make his goofy eyes. His nose and eyebrows were also done with the black striper.

Time for Mad Hatter! This was the hardest one for me to do. I started with a base of Sinful Colors – Snow me White. I then freehanded the hat with Tip Top – We have an Agreen-mint. Yes, I freehanded! Eeek! I used Catrice – I’m not a Greenager to make the darker band on the hat. I then tried to make the white card with “10/6” using my stripers, my dotting tool, another dotting tool. You name it. (yes that is also how many time I redid it) In the end I decided to just leave it be and hope that the intention of it is enough. :P

Lastly, on my thumbs we have Queen of Hearts. Another one I tried quite a few different ways. In the end I went with a base of Sinful Colors – Black on Black. I then used one red rhinestone heart and one clear rhinestone heart down the center of my nail.

In the end we have a journey with Alice through her Wonderland!

See what I mean?? Huh?? Amazeballs! Like Michelle said, we had a conversation once where I said I have a very soft spot for Alice from Alice in Wonderland. All the Disney heroines gets a castle or a prince or something amazing in the end of their journeys but all Alice got was an acid fueled mind trip that turned out to just be a dream?? Poor girl! So needless to say, I LOVE this post!

Pink and Black Skittle Mani

Hi there lovelies! Yay for Friday hey!

Most nail polish and nail art blogs are featuring beautiful mint mani's today in remembrance of Talia Joy. I'm really hoping I can join in this great effort to bring honor to someone who was already at such a young age an inspiration to so many people! Fingers crossed!

Onto today's post...

Skittle mani's. They look and are so easy to do! They are fun, adventurous and quite cute looking! The perfect excuse for any nail artist who wants to try a whole bunch of different designs but doesn't have the patience time to do all of them separately! I adore them...except on me! For some reason they never look right when I do them! It's like I never really choose the right type of patterns to go together. It's weird. But in the spirit of learning and growing together, I have decided to post my attempt that I tried a few weeks ago anyway.

Nail Polishes Used:

• China Glaze Make and Entrance
• China Glaze White on White
• WOW Nail Polish 393

Tools Used:

• Dotting tool
• Wide fan brush

Other:

• Bundle Monster plate BM222
• Rhinestones
• Loose small hex glitters

On my index finger, pinky and thumb I layed down a basecoat of WOW 393. On the thumb I made random polka dots with the dotting tool using China Glaze Make an Entrance. On my index layed down a thin layer of top coat and put on a few rows of small hex glitters in silver. And on my pinky I used this tutorial from my friend V's blog (For The Love of Nail Art) and made a few swipes with China Glaze White on White and then a few swipes with China Glaze Make an Entrance over the white.

For my middle and ring finger I layed down a basecoat of China Glaze Make an Entrance. 

Then my middle finger I stamped on the butterfly design (tramp stamp on my finger yo!) using Bundle Monster plate BM222, layed down a thin coat layer of top coat and placed small black hex glitters around the butterfly. On my ring finger I kept it “simple” and stuck on 2 black rhinestones. I topped everything off with a coat of Seche Vite. Besides it being an awesome top coat, it also helps keep the rhinestones in place!

Overall it's not a bad skittle mani! I just didn't...”feel it”, if that makes sense. But hey, that only means I get to work on this type of nail art some more till I'm eventually happy with it! And that's a WIN in my books! ...Also, and purely by coincidence, my friend M from Ordinary Misfit also did an pink and black skittle mani this week on her blog! Go lookie!
