Hi lovelies! Heck, I don’t know about you guys but I could get used to
having at least 1 public holiday a week. But now that I’m used to it,
it’s almost over. Tomorrow is one more public holiday and then next week Wednesday
is the Presidential Election day in South Africa (GO VOTE DAMMIT!)
which has been declared a public holiday. But after that our next public
holiday is only in June again! *horror scream* How am I suppose to
survive?? I’m a fragile minded person people! FRAGILE! *sobs*
But you didn’t come here to hear me moan now did you? Onto le nails!
About a month or more ago I had a chat with some ladies about what
colors would go well with China Glaze Foie Gras as I was swatching it
and didn’t want it to go to waste because let’s be honest! I do not wear
this specific color a whole lot and the name kinda gives me the creeps!
So after a few suggestions, Heather from acidicice said she saw a show on TV that
used colours similar to China Glaze Foie Gras and China Glaze For Audrey
to make a zebra print cake so hence, this mani was born.
I started by laying down 2 coats of China Glaze Foie Gras as my base.
Then using my thin nail art brush (or actually my trusty liquid eyeliner
brush) and China Glaze For Audrey, I made a random V shapes and lines
to create a zebra pattern.
These colors went gorgeously together and I absolutely loved the end
result! It’s actually one of those mani’s that I would redo and just
wear randomly. But now I’m dying to wear China Glaze Foie Gras with a
bright orange also. Who knew I would like doing art with this weird
little goose liver pate named polish??
Lots of mad love...

Glittery Animal Print Nail Art
Hi there lovelies! It might not be Monday and this is probably old news for everybody but HEY, we have a shorter working week! Whooooo! Hooray for women and the day that was created to celebrate our brilliance! *happy dance*...don't judge me, you also love public holidays! Unless you're a business owner and this affects your cash flow, I'm really sorry. But I still frakking love public holidays! Especially Women's Day...
Onto the shinies though...
In my love for nail art, I ran into a little bit of a dilemma. I adore glitter polishes! Smexy, chunky, fully packed mix glitter polishes! The more bling-tastic, the better! But I love nail art. And for some reason I find it really hard to “art” glitter polishes up! Okay, not really that hard but it's like they are already so pretty and busy on their own that I don't want to mess with them. Yet me inner child screams out “Do it! DO IT!”.
So I found my compromise. “Wear your ghetto-tastic glitter Thea, just keep it simple. Black and white, plain stamping, skittles and skittlette's etc. Sometimes less is more. And you can still go 'Oooh, shiny!' when they hit the sun and burn out your retinas with their glorious sparkle!”...yes, I talk to myself. It's freakishly fantastic! *cue creepy psycho music*
Anyhoo...
So today I am posting a simple mani I did a few weeks ago with a one of my all-time favourite glitter polishes and an easy animal print.
Nail Polishes used:
Tools Used:
I started off by laying down 2 coats of China Glaze Liquid Crystal. When this was dry I made a a simple black zebra / tiger print using the small thin nail art brush and WOW Nail Polish #393.
I'll be honest, I loved this look! And China Glaze Liquid Crystal is just awesome! Bright blue that looks almost icy in low light but then you see it in brighter light and this lovely pinkish shine just pops out! Its also packed with a crazy amount of mixed color glitters so yes, I am very happy whenever I wear this color.
