Guest Post: Holo'd up acidicice!

Hi lovelies! I have a nice little change of scenery for you guys today. Heather from acidicice asked me to do a guest post for her last week for Valentines week. Of course I said yes (You can see the post HERE) but I asked her to do one for me too. She is a fellow blogger who blogs about life, love, her kiddies and of course, nail art (WIN!)! Since I know that she loves holographic polish, I asked her to do something with holos and flowers. Let’s see what she came up with...

Holos & Flowers

Hi everyone! The super talented T has been so kind as to ask me to do a mani for her as a guest post. T did a Valentine's guest post for me, which you can read HERE. My prompt was holo and flowers. I knew just what I wanted to do with that!

This mani was a lot more challenging than I anticipated. Not because of the prompt, but because I've been sick and so I've been hopped up on meds that make me shake terribly. I was trembling so badly it was difficult to get any kind of precision going. Even cleaning up was a wobbly business. But, I had a deadline and powered through it! Onto the nails, then!

I started with a base of Tip Top Miraculous Results to protect my natural nails. I then painted 4 coats of my Born Pretty Store Holographic Effect Nail Polish #1 on all of my nails. Even though it is very sheer I could probably have gotten away with 3. After that had dried I stamped the top image of my PUEEN 27 stamping plate with Essence White Stampy polish on all my nails except my ring fingers. I stamped those with Essence Magic Carpet Magnetic nail polish with the right hand full nail image from the same PUEEN plate. I top coated them all and there you have it! I hope you guys like it!

Thanks again for having me T. It has been an honour!

Aaaah, I absolutely love what Heather came up with! The colors and stamping go together beautifully and that picture with the perfume bottle is stunning! STUNNING! Thank you H, for bringing such prettiness on to my blog today! It was a huge honor!

Pink Camo Nails...kind of.

Hi lovelies! How is everybody doing? Hope your Monday and Tuesday weren’t too hectic and your week started off nice and chilled! Before we get into today’s mani, I just want to apologize in advance. I have been overloaded with spam lately! It may not seem like that much but getting 10 – 15 emails a day just about the most random nonsense on earth can get really frustrating! This has now forced me to add a verification process to my comments section. I didn’t want to add this process because I want commenting to be as effortless as possible but unfortunately desperate times call for a few changes here and there! Plus I know you guys are freaking awesome so you won’t mind!

Today’s mani is an extremely simple and easy one! It also almost didn’t make it because the results weren’t exactly how I wanted it to come out but I decided to post it anyway. Never underestimate the underdog, even if it’s only a failed mani!

I started by laying down 2 coats of Essence Free Hugs. Then using Tip Top Nail Chic Sherbet Angel, Tip Top Nail Chic Super Trooper, Essence Free Hugs and China Glaze Make An Entrance I added random brushstrokes over the base, making sure there is not a lot of polish left on the brush.

Like I said, this mani did not turn out exactly the way I wanted but it wasn't bad enough for the reject pile. It kind of reminded me of pink camouflage. And man, who knew a light pink could scream so much! I had so many people tell me how much Essence Free Hugs truly stands out between the different shades. I like it! Definitely putting it on my toes next!

Valentines Day Nail Art: Part 2

Hi lovelies! I'm here again with the second round and my official Valentines Day mani. I'm posting this one quite a bit late because that way, I kind of have the best of both worlds time wise. Like I'm not just celebrating Valentines Day with my lovely local people but also people in other countries that are quite a few hours behind us. That way, I am literally stretching my time!

Let's get into the mani, shall we?

I started out by laying down 2 coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White. When this was dry, I created a water marble pattern using Tip Top Nail Chic Sherbet Angel and Nubar Competition Red. Lastly, I wanted to add a little bit something extra to the mani and stamped over the water marble using Bundle Monster plate BM-411 and Sinful Colors Snow Me White.

So this is a really short and hopefully sweet post but I don't think you want to be spending your Valentines Day reading a silly post, do you? Nah! I hope everybody gets spoiled rotten and has an absolutely beautiful Valentines Day.

Valentine's Day Nail Art: Part 1

Hi lovelies! Happy Valentine’s Day! For the un-valentined reader, Happy Being Single Rules day! Hope everybody has an amazing day filled with Belgium chocolate, real roses (I’ve got my eye on you, “tacky plastic rose that smell like cheap cologne” giver!) and cute cuddly teddy bears! I got awesome earrings with dangly skulls and crosses from my fiancĂ©! Isn’t he bad ass?

Enough about that though. This is actually the first of two posts I have lined up for today. I wanted to post this mani yesterday  and edit my main Valentines day mani’s pictures last night, but we had people over so that did not happen. Both will happen today though...hopefully!

I started by laying down 2 coats of China Glaze Recycle on my ring and middle finger. When this was dry, I made random heart shapes and blotches with OPI Do You Lilac It? and then made leopard print shapes around the blotches using WOW Nail Polish #393. To finish off the look, I layed down 2 coats of Limited Colours Satum (no, this is not a spelling mistake on my part!) on my index and ring finger.

Dumb dumb that I am, I only took 2 different hand poses of this mani! *facepalm* But I think it came out cute! I am completely in love with the gray and purple together. Don’t they compliment each other beautifully?

Twinkle Twinkle Spongey Stars...

Hi lovelies! Heck, it’s been quite a while since I’ve posted but it’s been for good reason. Had some really awesome changes in my life and I thought I’d share my happiness with you! I didn’t really post anything about it on the blog but last year October I lost my job due to retrenchment. At the time it was a really big shock to my system but I thought I would get over it quick and find a job in no time! I didn’t though. I hated feeling so helpless and out of control, and I was slowly busy losing myself! I was constantly fighting with my family and my fiancĂ© about the most tiny silly things, I was low on inspiration and just the idea of writing a blog post exhausted me! That was the worst to me. I was pushing away the things I love the most! Something had to change fast!...And it did! Last Tuesday I went for an interview on very short notice and was quite nervous!  To be honest, I was terrified.  But I’ve been working there since last Wednesday and it’s a great environment with new challenges , new experiences and I feel amazing. I feel like “me” again and man, did I miss me!

But let’s be honest, you’re not here for my soppy life experiences! Let’s get on with the nail art shall we?

I got a little star punch after I saw some amazing mani’s done by people like Chalkboard Nails and Manicurator and decided I have to play with it immediately! It’s not a hugely complicated mani but I still loved the results!

I started out by laying down 2 coats of Catrice Hip Queens Wear Blue Jeans. I punched in some stars into sticky tape and layed it down on random places over the dry base.  Then I took torn pieces of a make-up sponge and sponged over the open star spaces with Sinful Colors Snow Me White.

Like I said, this is such a simple and easy mani but I love how it came out! I liked it so much that I actually wore it for more than 2days and that does not happen often in my world! Just needed some red in between somewhere and it would’ve put me in a full on “‘America” mood.
