#31DC2015: Yellow aka I Just Came To Say...Yellow??

Did you sing my title?? Come ooooon! It's epic!...okay, I suck. I know. But just go with it okay? Let me not jabber on about WEAK ASS titles though and rather jump straight into the stuff you are actually here to see!

#31DC2015: Yellow

I haven't done a skittlette in AGES so when the inspiration hit me for this many, I was kind of over the moon! And epic thing is the inspiration literally just hit me out of the blue...or yellow?? Suck it Google! I didn't need you this time!

I started out by laying down 2 coats of Tip Top Nail Chic Sun Kissed over all my nails. On my ring finger I added a coat of Seche Vite Top Coat and added a bunch of different black rhinestones and studs which I painted black using WOW Nail Polish #393. On my middle finger I put on some sellotape to make the triangular shape, added a thick coat of Sinful Colors Snow Me White over the gap and pulled the tape off immediately. Then I laid down a few mini chevron vinyls by NailVinyls over the white and filled in the spaces with WOW Nail Polish #393. Lastly I just laid down a coat of L.A. Girl Spotted over the yellow on my pinky and index finger.

Again, super simple but I actually seriously dig this mani! I have a thing for black and yellow and badly want to make my lounge yellow, white and black but the husband wont bite. I'll get him there one day though! Tee hee hee!

Soft Skittlette

Hi there lovelies! Heck, you know you are tired when you start a blog post with “To whom it may concern”! I don’t know if I should laugh or face palm myself. Laugh I think is the best option at the moment...I might just miss myself with the facepalm! That being said, we have a public holiday on Friday so hopefully I will catch up on the Zzzz’s that I missed out on this past weekend. But while we’re in the week, let’s enjoy the days that we have.

Today’s mani isn’t something I do often because I’m not really the soft girly type but man, did I love the results!

I started by laying down 2 coats of Tip Top Nail Chic Meringue Surprise on my index finger and my pinky, 1 coat of Tip Top Nail Addict Aluminium  on my middle finger and 3 coats of Tip Top Nail Chic Cream Puff on my ring finger. I then stamped on my index finger and pinky with Nubar Silver Mist and Bundle Monster plate BM-423. To finish off the look, I added 1 coat of Avon Color Trend Silver Plated on my ring finger.

Can I love my own mani, even if it’s a super simple one? Because I love this! Don’t ask me why because it is completely not something I would wear every day! TOO DAMN SOFT...or pink...I'll get back to you on that one! It also made me fall in love with Tip Top Nail Addict Aluminium, which I never thought would happen since I have an immense dislike for foil finish nail polishes but heck, she took my breath away! I love it when my hobby can still surprise me!

If you would like me to swatch any of the colors you saw in today’s post, please let me know via email or drop me a comment below. More than willing to oblige!

Water Marbling Equals HAPPY TIMES!

Hi there lovelies! It's Friday so everybody must be pretty excited! I know I am because my better half only works half day on a Saterday so I get to spend some extra time with him. Score ME! (Somebody just got some brownie points! *points thumbs at self*)

On a bit more serious note, this weekend is registration weekend for the upcoming South African Presidential Elections in 2014. Basically, if your aren’t registered or you moved towns after the last elections, you can go and register this weekend to be able to vote next year. I know a lot of people have a bit of a “Meh” attitude towards the South African Elections but it is literately the least a person can do to make a change in this country! So go for it! Register and be able to say, I did my part even if it's very small! For more info on where you can register in your area, you can check this LINK.

Now on to some less serious business but damn important if you live in my world! Nails!

I might be ever so slightly obsessed with water marbling again since the #MTVnailChallenge prompted us to do water marble in our last topic. So I played around with some more polish and came up with this skittlette mani.

On my thumb, middle and ring finger I layed down 2 coats of Sinful Colours Snow Me White. A white base really helps the colors that you use in your water marble to stand out. I used China Glaze Flyin' High and China Glaze Spontaneous to make the water marble.

On my pinky and index finger I simply layed down 2 coats of China Glaze Flyin' High and with my large ended dotting tool I just made two dots on the middle of those fingers with China Glaze Spontaneous.

I really liked how this came out! Teals and purples are some of my favorite colors so combining them just took me to my happy place!

I hope you guys have a spectacular funtastical weekend and whatever you do, keep it safe!

Leopard Print Skittlette

Hi there loves! I hope everyone is doing well! I can't complain too much on my side. Is it just me or did this week absolutely zoom past? Mine did but I don't mind because it's my birthday month! YAY ME! We're also going into my favourite time of the year, September right through to December. I get really excited because I know I'm going to see most of my family end of September and I also see my sisters quite a few times in this stretch of time. So yes, I'm generally a very happy camper this time of the year.

Now on to today's post...

I'm posting a very simple leopard print skittlette mani I did more than a month ago. I wasn't too happy with how the ring finger's clean-up turned out so I let it lay in my emergency folder for quite a while. But I was browsing through the file this past week and I thought it was actually a really nice mani so I decided to post it, uncrisp clean-up line and all.

Nail Polishes used:
  • Sinful Colors Snow Me White
  • WOW Nail Polish #393
  • Tip Top Nail Chic Jazz Berryblue
  • OPI Get Your Number

Tools Used:
  • Small thin nail art brush

Looki! Mini Bottle!

I started out by laying down 2 coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White on my ring finger, middle finger and thumb. When this was dry I made random blotches with Tip Top Nail Chic Jazz Berryblue using the bottles own brush. I then went in with WOW Nail Polish #393 and a thin nail art brush and made random C and U shapes. To round it off I added a few random dots and squiggles between the blotches.

On my pinkie and index finger I just layed down 2 (I think it was 2) coats of OPI Get Your Number.

I adore animal prints! Okay, I would never wear it in my clothes or anything else but I dig it on my nails! And the color combos can be insane if you just let your imagination go a little bit! I already have another one planned out again after doing this post so...TO THE MANI CAVE!

Easy Skittlette Mani

Hi there lovelies! Everybody having a good Friday? Ever find yourself having one of those days where you feel like you have nothing to say? I am totally in one of those funks today so I'm not going to bore you with pointless ramblings and trying to be funny because I will just suck! So onto the mani then!

*Warning: The pictures ahead contains nubbins. So y'all need to hide yo kids, hide yo wife, and hide yo husband 'cause I'm about to show some skin in here!

Nail Polishes used:
  • China Glaze Spontaneous
  • China Glaze Secret Peri-Winkle
  • OPI Grape...Set...Match

Tools Used:
  • Striping nail art brush
  • Dotting tool

On my middle finger I layed down 2 coats of China Glaze Spontaneous for my base and then went in with my striping brush and made a few stripes with China Glaze Secret Peri-Winkle. On my ring finger I layed down 2 coats of China Glaze Secret Peri-Winkle for my base and made the dots using my big ended dotting tool and OPI Grape...Set...Match.

On my thumb I again layed down 2 coats of China Glaze Spontaneous and made polka dots using my big ended dotting tool and China Glaze Secret Peri-Winkle. Finally, on my pinky and index finger I simply layed down 2 coats of OPI Grape...Set...Match.

It's a simple skittlette mani and I actually really liked how it came together! I love these colors and think they compliment each other beautifully!

I hope everybody has a great weekend!
