#31DC2015: Metallic aka Sugary Metal

Hi lovelies! I'm posting! Oh yeah! I'm winning! Oh yeah! I could do this all night! Oh yeah! Ok rather not because someone just picked up a pan! Oh yeah!

#31DC2015: Metallic

Yeah, I'm going to be honest...metallic made me its biatch! I had a pretty bad ass idea for this prompt until I realized "Oh yeah, certain chrome and metallic polishes are BRUSH STROKEY AS FRAK!". So I called it a night. After work today though I was pretty psyched! I remembered I have a pretty killer silver chrome-ish polish and some colors I've been wanting to pair with silver for a while now so hence this mani was born.

This is a very basic mani. I started out with 2 coats of Tip Top Nail Addict Aluminum as my base. I then went in with Tip Top Nail Chic Peach Crisp and Tip Top Nail Chic Cha Cha Cha to make the sugar spun strings.

Is this metallic enough? IS THIS METAL ENOUGH?? *head bangs hair to mad guitar riff*

Lots of mad love...

#PPSAnailchallenge - Sugar Spun aka "Neon in the nuuuude!"

Hi there lovelies! Heck, it is Wednesday and I am posting my third post for the #PPSAnailchallenge so basically I am posting my first post for Week 2. Last week I posted both mani’s on the Sunday...I don’t know about you guys but in Thea’s book that is improvement! HELLA improvement! Can I pleeeeease get a whoop whoop??

Sugar Spun

You guys! I was actually excited about this prompt! It’s not a type of art I do a lot because let’s be honest, it’s pretty damn tedious. But I love the effect! And it’s actually relaxing. Also, whoever came up with technique...frak dude, respect! Talk about thinking out of the box...or bottle in this case. Anyhoo, so I also love nude polishes and neons together but I don’t think I’ve ever done a combo like that. So I thought, why not now?? So let’s get neony naked!

I started out by laying down 2 coats of Essence Color & Go Dare It Nude. When this was dry I made my strings using Tip Top Nail Chic Walking On Sunshine on all my fingers except for my ring finger. On my ring finger I simply added a stud that I colored in using Tip Top Nail Chic Walking On Sunshine.

You guys! Seriously?? Why the frak is it so hard to capture neons accurately?? It looked so epic in real life! I want to nude and neon everything now but dammit, I apparently lack decent camera skills. I shall conquer it though! LIKE A BOSS!

Lots of mad love...

#31DC2014 - Day 10: Gradient Nails aka Sugar that won't go to your hips! WIN!

Hi lovelies! Hmmm...do you feel that? It’s the feeling of being halfway through the week! It is also the feeling of accomplishment because today is the last prompt for the “Color” section and I’m still here! High 5 to myself! Booosh!

Day 10: Gradient Nails

Can I please cue a groan? Because I feel like this moment needs a groan! I CAN’T DO GRADIENT MANIS! At all! Please note when I say gradient, I mean the stupid sponge method one. My colors do not mix right, I start it to high up (or too low!), I move the sponge sideways up and down too much and then the “gradient” is HUGE! So no. Not happening...and you can stop pouting dammit! I went with the next best thing. An ombre gradient of sorts! And the sugar spun method!

I started out by laying down 2 coats of WOW Nail Polish #393. When this was dry I used the sugar spun method [TUTORIAL by Nailasaurus] and pulled strings of China Glaze Starboard (dark green), Nubar Green Tea (medium green) and Sinful Colors Pistache over my nails, creating a gradient from dark to light.

I was so chuffed with how this came out! Sure, I’ll admit cleanup was a pain (as you can see by my beautifully green stained index finger’s cuticle) but the results were ABSOLUTELY worth it! This is definitely a mani I’m going to redo after the challenge...with a thick coat of petroleum jelly around my nails of course!

Lots of mad love...
