And so it begins...#31DC2015

Lovelies! Oh my glob, oh my glob, OH MY GLOB, it is finally here! THE 31 Day Challenge 2015!!! Are you spazzing cos I’m spazzing...SO HARD! I am excited and terrified at the same time but you know what? I am going to try my best to finish it! GO TEAM ME!

I am jumping straight into the challenge today so let’s get to it shall we?

#31DC2015: Red

I’ll be dead honest. When I open my polish drawers, red doesn’t tend to be the first colour I go for so it didn’t leave me feeling very inspired. Luckily after browsing through some colour combos on Pinterest, I finally found a colour that goes with red that makes me go “squeeeeeeee” and the red...and teal mani was born!

I started out by laying down 2 coats of OPI Fly as my base. When this was dry, I went in with my nail art brush and made cloudy type shapes using Sinful Colors Snow Me White. I then used the same brush and made random round blobs with Hean City Fashion #156 over the white. Finally, I went in with my striping brush and just added white circles around the blobs to round them off.

I was pretty happy with this mani. I did realise though that I need to invest in some good acrylic paints so I can paint things like circles...well, more circley! But Day 1 down, ammaright?? Only 30 more prompts to go!

Lots of mad love...

#PPSANailChallenge: Purple aka Mosaic Madness??

Ladies! Lovelies! “How you doin?” as Joey from Friends would say. Before we go any further, let’s talk about this phrase for a second. Well, I actually just want to address most dudes...Unless you are Joey from Friends, it aint gonna work! Ask my husband and his brother. It just provokes a “Whaaaat?” look. Now, as a girl who considers herself to be kind of a geek, rather use this line...”Wibbly wobbly timey whimey...stuff” *faints*

Purple

So today I am continuing with the #PPSANailChallenge. After today I only have 4 more prompts left which I want to get done ASAP because I want try and do the 31 Day Challenge this year again but this time I’m going to finish it! Well...I’m going to try and finish it but I want to for personal reasons. Will tell you all about that when I start the challenge though. Now for this mani I again didn’t have much inspiration but after drooling over Sveta Sanders' Instagram account for days I finally decided to give one of her mani ideas a go. It’s not nearly as epic as HERS but it gets the job done!

I started by laying down 2 coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White. I pre-made some strips using China Glaze Grape Pop, China Glaze Spontaneous and OPI Grape Set Match on a plastic baggie beforehand and cut out random pieces from it when it was dry. I then layed down a coat of a clear topcoat and went to town with the random purple pieces all over my nails. Lastly, I just finished my mani off with some Seche Vite Top Coat.

Simple, straight forward and kind of pretty! In hindsight I wish I cut the pieces a little smaller but I am planning on doing this mani again sometime so will definitely remember to do it then!

Have an awesome weekend and tons of mad love...

#PPSANailChallenge Traffic aka Whaaaaat??

Ladies! Lovelies! Whassup?? Not much here except for I am PSYCHED homies! It is long weekend so no work on Monday! *throws confetti* Today I am continuing with my epic journey to finish the #PPSANailChallenge. SO LET’S BANG IT!

Traffic

Honestly, who came up with this prompt?? Traffic? Really?? Oh wait, it was Briget from Because I Can...lady, we’re you high on carbon dioxide fumes?? Brigets be crazy! Only way I can explain it. Anyhoo...after pretty much splitting my head open to try and figure out what the heck I’m going to do *side eyes Briget* I was squizzing through Instagram and found this epic mani by Oh My Gosh Polish and BOOM! An idea slapped some sense into me! So if you’re like me and love roadtrips, this might be right up your alley!

I started by laying down 2 coats of OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui (oh my glob, and what glorious coats they were! Will definitely be swatching this baby soon!). When this was dry I used THIS tutorial from Oh My Gosh Polish and made my trees and moon with WOW Nail Polish #393 and Sinful Colors Snow Me White. Lastly I made my road on my middle finger also using WOW Nail Polish #393 and Sinful Colors Snow Me White.

I love the idea behind the trees! They are so versatile! Halloween, sunset gradient, mystic forest...you can use them for so many things! I absolutely can not wait to try them again!

Lots of mad love...

#PPSAnailchallenge - Pink aka "FAN BRUSH ALL THE NAILS!"

Hi there lovelies...you schmexy beasts you! I am finally posting again. I’m sorry I dropped you in the PPSA Nail Challenge but thanks to some unfortunate things I was pulled out very early in the challenge. Not only did I have the mother of all nail breaks which funnily enough I found a solution around but I’ll tell you all about that in my next post, but I got bronchitis! You know what that means right?? I can finally use this meme and IT IS LEGIT!

So I decided to go on with the challenge anyway and finish it! BECAUSE I CAN!!! BOOOOOM!

Pink

I didn’t have anything in particular that inspired me for this mani other than I was purely just looking for another excuse to use my fan brush. So let’s get on with it, shall we?

I started out by laying down 2 coats of my ol’ faithful Sinful Colors Snow Me White. Next, I went in with my nail art fan brush and made random strokes from my cuticles towards the tip of my nails using China Glaze Make An Entrance, Tip Top Nail Chic Melting Marshmallow and WOW Nail Polish #393. Easy peasy lemon squeazies!

This mani felt very...okay to me. Not bad but not WOW! Still kind of pretty though. My favourite nail was the middle finger nail. The others I went a little brush crazy but yeah, crazy is what crazy does! Oh, I also mattified my nails afterwards with China Glaze Matte Magic just for funsies. *cue INXS* Mattify, mattify me! HEY! ...ANYHOO! I actually preferred the glossy version but sharing the matt version with you guys anyway.

Lots of mad love...
